"Then have my lips the sin they took" This moment is where Romeo & Juliet first met, fell in love, & everything changed. In the book Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare, this book is about forbidden love. Forbidden love is when two people love each other & would do the most for each other, but it is impossible to be together because of their surroundings & other people's opinions. When there is forbidden love in a relationship, the two people in love will face a lot of difficult struggles.
Society is one of the reasons that their love is forbidden. In the book there is a feud between the Montague and the Capulets. Both dislike each other. Juliet is a Capulet and Romeo is a Montague. They fall in love even though their families are enemies. For example, the nurse tells Juliet "His name is Romeo, and a Montague, the only son of our great enemies," and then Juliet says, "My only love sprung from my only hate," (pg.61). She had hate for the Montague, but falls in love with one of them. The society that they both live in would never approve of them being together because their families hate each other with a passion & they should hate each other as well, but no they end up falling in love with each other after one night.
Family is another reason that their love is forbidden. Juliet's father wants Juliet to marry Paris, but she does not want to marry him. She just fell in love with Romeo. The problem is Juliet's parents have control on who she marries. Capulet tells Paris "Let two more summers wither in their pride. Ere we may think her ripe to be a bride," (pg.27). When Capulet says that he will let Paris marry her in two summers it shows that he wants Paris to be Juliet's husband.
In forbidden love their might be tragic consequences. One result of the consequences that can happen is sacrifice. People in relationships sometimes sacrifice things just so that they could be together. In the book it says this [He dies]. Romeo killed himself right after he saw that Juliet was dead. What really was going on was that she was not dead, she just drank a sleeping potion. When she wakes up she sees that Romeo is dead so [She takes Romeo's dagger, stabs herself, and dies] (pg.231). When Romeo killed himself he showed that Juliet was a big part of his life. Meaning that she was the one he wanted to be with. He didn't want to be apart from her so he took his life just to be with her. When Juliet killed herself she did the same for Romeo. She kills herself for Romeo, she thought about him, no one else or how they would feel if she was dead. Their forbidden love caused them to sacrifice their lives for each other.
If you are in a relationship, it will come with struggles. If your love is forbidden, there would most likely be more problems you two will face since you both cant be together. This book actually showed a dramatic love story of two young teens who fell in love, but were not allowed to be together. This book showed readers that two lovers can be together if they want and its their choice, no one else's.
